Adrian Lynch
Electrical Engineering Tutor
Adrian joined the Vogal Group in September 2016 in the role of Electrical Engineering Tutor and has 7 years teaching experience.
Adrian has over 23 years’ experience as an engineer in avionics and electrical/electronic engineering gathered in the Royal Air Force. His career in the Royal Air Force spanned a significant period of time during which he was able to work on a range of aircraft including the Hurricane, Tornado F3 and GR4, Dakota and the world famous Spitfire and Lancaster Bomber.
Following a successful engineering career with the Royal Air Force, Adrian decided to move into post 16 education and teach this subject to the next generation of engineers working with a local FE College before joining Vogal Group.
Adrian is a keen photographer with a particular interest in photographing aircraft, motorsport cars, wildlife and vacation landscapes across the world during his visits. He has also been fortunate to be involved in taking photographs for the wedding of a few close friends and colleagues which have added to his experience and knowledge.

Gary Armstrong
Mechanical Tutor
Gary joined Vogal Group in January 2022 in the role of Mechanical Engineering Tutor. He has been a qualified Engineering Assessor and Trainer for over 7 years working with Apprentices and also with students in the RAF Jets Academy on the island of Cyprus.
Gary has extensive experience and knowledge gained across a vast range of mechanical engineering sectors, including maintenance engineering, heavy vehicle mechanics and refrigeration installation and maintenance.
Following a successful engineering career in the Royal Air Force, Gary decided to move into the education sector to share his knowledge and experience for the benefit of those entering the engineering sector as Apprentices. Gary has been involved in the delivery of engineering training at Level 3 with a national training provider and more recently into the assessment of Apprentices undertaking Mechatronics at a college of further education.
Gary’s passion in his spare time is working on his campervan, enjoying the great outdoors, and anything with two wheels, being both a keen motorcyclist and mountain biker. Gary is involved in a motorcycle club for ex-service personnel, which contributes to fundraising for military charities.

Des Roberts
Engineering Assessor
Des joined Vogal Group in January 2020 in the role of Engineering Assessor and has 15 years of teaching and assessment experience.
Des is an experienced Engineer having gathered a wealth of experience & knowledge in a broad range of engineering disciplines across many years.
Des started his career with the Royal Air Force and after 15 years of service proceeded to become a licensed aircraft engineer with Britannia Airways. Des also has experience of working in the manufacturing sector maintaining the plant equipment.
Following an expansive and successful career in engineering, Des decided to move into the post-16 education sector working for a range of further education colleges and private training providers to share his knowledge and teach future engineers. Des is an experienced and knowledgeable Assessor and Trainer in both engineering and as a coach & mentor for additional aspects of training, specifically with disaffected students, community service projects and the long term unemployed to develop and continue their training and upskilling. Des has experience of assessing engineers in a range of industries from those who service a Jumbo Jet to those who keep the confectionery production lines working and those involved in the manufacture & assembly of defence missiles.
Des is a keen cyclist during his spare time and a member of his local cycling club. He also enjoys rebuilding and renovating vintage bicycles.

Amanda Hay
Administration Coordinator
Amanda joined Vogal Group in February 2020 as Functional Skills Tutor but from March 2021 she has undertaken the role of Administration Coordinator.
Having worked with Coca-Cola for 12 years, Amanda gathered a broad range of skills and was responsible for training staff on new IT systems, project management, systems implementation, event management and business development.
Amanda is a passionate and committed Tutor and continues to support Engineering Apprentices with Communication Skills and Managing Business Activities Within Engineering.
Amanda has a love of travel and enjoys visiting new places to experience the culture and history they provide. She also enjoys gardening and socialising with friends to relax as well as home improvements.

Ginny
Learning & Development Coordinator
Ginny joined the Vogal Group in July 2021 in the role of Learning & Development Coordinator and has in excess of 15 years’ experience in the further education sector.
Ginny began her career in nursing and has worked in a range of hospitals and care settings including Harefield Hospital in West London, which is famously renowned for pioneering heart and lung transplants.
Ginny is extensively experienced in the Apprenticeship and post-16 education sector having worked within a further education college for over 12 years with responsibility for both the construction trades and construction management curriculum areas.
Ginny is a very talented and skilful lady with particular interests and abilities in crafting beautiful items from different woods as well as enjoying gardening in her spare time.
When not working at Vogal or creating beautiful wooden art and craft pieces, Ginny enjoys spending time with her family and grandchildren, some of whom live in both Australia and New Zealand.

Sylvia Roberts Law
Training Centre Manager
Sylvia joined Vogal Group in June 2019 in the role of Training Centre Manager
Sylvia brings to Vogal a broad range of experience and knowledge of Apprenticeships gained over 25 years’ and with extensive experience in teaching and assessment within post 16 education.
Sylvia has worked for both national & smaller Independent Training Providers as well as large Further Education Colleges throughout the UK managing a broad and diverse range of Apprenticeships from Management and Cyber Security to Engineering and Town Planning at levels 2 – 7.
